From bare wall to a sheltered outdoor space

We recently installed custom electric awnings at our Helensvale office. They have LED lights built into the arms, a remote control and wind sensors designed to retract them when the weather picks up. This diary shows the space before installation, the mounting brackets and the finished result.

How the installation worked

Each awning bar clips onto two brackets fixed to the wall or other suitable structure. Once the brackets were securely mounted, the units were surprisingly simple to fit and plug into a power point. The right fixing method depends on the surface and loads involved, so check the manufacturer’s instructions and seek a qualified installer or electrician where required.

Why we went direct

We were quoted around $8,000–$10,000 for this project. Our delivered cost was approximately 75% less than those quotes, and we were impressed enough to establish a relationship directly with the manufacturer in China. That was our own experience, not a guaranteed price or saving for another property. Allow approximately six weeks for manufacture and delivery; specifications, freight and installation requirements will vary.

Want to see them or ask about the manufacturer?

You’re welcome to arrange a visit to our Helensvale office to see the awnings in person. If you’d like to ask a question or speak with the manufacturer, send Edgar a message using the form below.
